We try to hide what we are Like the imperfect scars That we hide under our sleeves So others cannot see But we are what we are And we are the scars No matter how we try to deceive Our being our words We are the scars on the arm of the world

You are stranger today Than you were yesterday Or perhaps you’re the same And it’s I whose changed   What use to impassion Now only imprisons Our words seems so hollow Can’t last till the morrow   Let it all come crashing Down, and all around these Shattered sentiments and These guilty tainted hands   Every promise broken All the words unspoken Comes pouring down like rain To rust away these chains   And wash away the pain Driving me insane Until all that remains Are emotions we feign   And these scars and your tears Binding us to our fears.
